When this blog was started it was planned as a way to interact with local people in a combined effort to care for and about our pets. Having discovered what a boundless collection of unfeeling indifference most of the nearby population comprises, that mission is herewith abandoned.

In future this blog will be focused on a subject that would not be a total waste of time and emotion; Open Source.

Since it was first applied to computers in 1998 the term ‘Open Source’ has been the target of public misinformation and well-funded resistance from a group whose identity is hardly a secret. Despite this, 29-million people – almost 1 in 10 of the entire US population – now use Open Source programs; Primarily Linux – on which this blog is written.

To be clear, I hate, loathe, detest and despise the Microsoft Corporation and every example of their over-priced, underpowered product line with the passionate, boiling intensity of ten-thousand imploding suns, and I hereby fully and gladly align myself with those imaginative souls who have also embraced the Open alternatives.

Long live Open Source. Let’s shatter some Windows!
